There are
times in all of our lives where we find ourselves in some awkward situations,
which make us feel helpless and hopeless. Normally, it is not the situation
that is causing these feelings of inadequacy, but how you are thinking.
Changing our thoughts can have
an enormous positive effect on how we are feeling. We cannot control outside
influences. What we are in control of is our mind. By thinking about the
good things in our life and in new endeavors, we can feel good, even in what
appears to be a very disturbing situation.
Dwelling on the bad things when
there is nothing we can do, will only make us feel worse and will do absolutely
no good. So it all depends on what is in our thoughts, and we can control
this.
William James once said, "The
greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life
by altering his attitude."
Always look for something good
in whatever situation you are in. Overcome obstacles by tuning your mind
to that of a positive thinker.
Remember that worrying about yesterday
or tomorrow only spoils the joys of today.
