Do
You Take On The Problems of Others?

How many
of us either willingly or unwillingly try to solve the problems of others?
It seems to be a common trait of humanity that our own problems are not enough,
we have to also take on other people's problems.
We do not realize we cannot solve
the problems of others because we did not create them in the first place.
They have created their own problems either through action or inaction.
All we normally do by trying to
solve the problems of others is take away from them any incentive for solving
their own problems. And in many cases they resent us for trying to help
them.
As an example, let's say your
next door neighbors are very poor and you are wealthy. Trying to help your
neighbors, you give your neighbor's wife a very expensive coat. The man will
resent you because you did something for his wife he was unable to do. The
wife will resent you because it is something her husband should have been
able to do for her and you belittled him by your gift.
Plus, when we solve another's
problems it is only a temporary solution. It is only through the process
of solving their own problems that people gain the ability to stop re-creating
those problems.
We have many problems of our own
which we are unable to solve. Why do we think we can solve the problems of
others?
None of this is to mean that we
should not provide others help and guidance (when they ask for it). It simply
means we need not take on the problems of the entire world.
